City’s Finest - Amsterdam by Luuk Van Dijk  

Rising tech house talent Luuk Van Dijk makes his Egg LDN debut for Late Nights on Friday December 6th having already racked up shows at International clubs and festivals such as Paradise, Awakenings, elrow, Cocoon alongside his residency at Straf_Werk. 

Known for his groovy sound and rolling basslines, Luuk’s released on leading labels such as Hot Creations,VIVa Music, Circus Recordings and Solid Grooves who’ve just released his ‘Da Beat’ EP. With his new release slotted in on Darius Syrossian’s Do Not Sleep label and about to launch his own label, there’s a palpable buzz around him.

Van ‘t Spit:

This is the place if you like chicken! The best chicken in my opinion. Some fries on the side, corn, their famous piri piri and you’re in for a treat. I come here every 2 weeks. Nando’s is alright but Van ’t Spit? My oh my.  

This is at De Clercqstraat 95, they have more locations in Amsterdam, like Frans Halsstraat 42 (My fave)

Hortus Botanicus

People who know me well, know I absolutely LOVE plants. I think I have around 30 plants in my house and if it wasn’t for my girlfriend I would probably live in a jungle here. Hortus Botanicus is a place with a beautiful garden and a sick indoor jungle and I came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it. I didn’t know Amsterdam had such a place. It’s a perfect thing to do on a Sunday - just stroll around, talk about life and see plants you never saw before.

Mary Go Wild

Mary Go Wild has been my go-to record store for more than 4 years now. It’s a lovely place to buy some records, check out a live stream, hang out with the lovely staff or buy gifts for DJ friends, haha! I did some vinyl only sets in here and I’ll be likely doing another one soon ;-)

Home:

I guess everybody’s #1 place is home. I just moved into this apartment some months ago with my girlfriend. It’s my booker’s old home and he’s a little bit jealous of what we’ve made of it…haha! I’m sooo happy here! It’s also in the middle of the centre so every club is 5 or 10 minutes away. I got lucky I guess.    

The Studio:

And of course my favourite place in Amsterdam… my studio! I’m usually here 3 to 4 days a week, making beats. This is my second studio space and I’m loving it here. Still need to do some work on the acoustics, but it’s getting there! Stay tuned for my upcoming releases as they were made here!
