One of the most immediate tunes that comes to mind is ‘Breathe’ by The Prodigy. It was one of the first electronic dance tracks I heard as a teenager and that really opened up the world of new music for me after that.

What track first made a major impression on you growing up and what can you recall about that time and how you heard it?

One of the most immediate tunes that comes to mind is ‘Breathe’ by The Prodigy. It was one of the first electronic dance tracks I heard as a teenager and that really opened up the world of new music for me after that.

Which track first inspired you to get into music seriously and think about it as a career?

I think Commix’s ‘Be True’ has to be up there. I bought it on vInyl when I first started getting into DJ-ing around 10 years ago and I remember it inspiring me so much to start producing my own music and it’s still one of my favourite tracks to date.

What’s your favourite dance floor track right now and what makes it stand out?

I would say Spektre’s ‘What Once Was Lost’. It’s actually a track that hasn’t been released yet but I think it’s set to come out on Kraftek at the start of next year. I think it’s such a unique track. The strung out arp shots stand out and makes the track so recognisable. Definitely one I’ll be playing out for a while!

What track do you wish you’d produced and why?

Honestly I don’t really wish that I produced anybody else’s track. I love that each artist’s musical expression is unique to them and it’s what makes them who they are. I like feeling inspired by other artist’s music that talks to me and I respect originality

What track never leaves your bag and why’s it close to you?

I think it has to be a track that I made around 3 years ago now when I first started making Techno. It’s a track called ‘Simulation’ that came out on Stil Vor Talent in 2016. There are many reasons why this track is close to me. It was my first release on a big label, it was also my first track to chart on Beatport and it gained some amazing support from artists that I looked up to in the industry. More importantly however, it always goes down a treat on the dance floor and is still one of my favourite productions to date. I don’t play it in every set as I like to vary my track selection when I perform but it definitely gets it’s fair share of play time.
