Selected Cuts: Waifs & Strays

The Bristol house head returns to the club this Friday, 17th May for '2012 Deep House Era' alongside Cozzy D, Mark Radford and many more...

Waifs & Strays first appeared among the new wave of house-leaning producers to emerge from Bristol's ever-fertile music scene back in 2010 alongside friends like Eats Everything and Julio Bashmore.

From gracing the decks of the world’s leading clubs, festivals and gaining chart success with releases on labels such as Hot Creations, Futureboogie, Glasgow Underground and MadTech, the Bristol house head returns to grace our decks this Friday, 17th May for '2012 Deep House Era' alongside Cozzy D, Mark Radford and many more... Ahead of the night, he shares 5 of his current favourite tracks with us.

Waifs & Strays - ‘Body Shiver’ (Hot Creations)

This has been our biggest track to date and was such a game changer for us...

Alexis Raphael - ‘Kitchens and Bedrooms’ (Richy Ahmed Remix) (Lower East)

I loved the original but really felt Richy took the track to another level. The break into Fonda Rae sample is just brilliant.

Rob James & Burnski - ‘Malibu’ (Hot Creations)

One of the earliest Hot Creations releases, and probably my favourite. Such a tune!

‘Unknown Artist - ‘What You Need’ (Coat of Arms Remix) [Pets Recordings]

Coat of Arms is actually Eats Everything (with Chris James) before he became the megastar he is now, but the talent is still there to see here!

Maceo Plex, Jon DaSilva, Joi Cardwell - ‘Love Somebody Else’ [Ellum]

Probably my favourite Maceo Plex tune from that era sends shivers up my spine every time I hear it.
