Selected Cuts: Janina
Janina gives us a glimpse into her world of dexterous selections ahead of the Unusual Suspects showcase.
As a pillar of the German electronic community for at least twelve years, Berliner and Unusual Suspects stalwart, Janina, returns to Egg LDN this weekend alongside Rossko, James McHale and Aspard.
With a sound that blends dark techno and mesmerising, spirited house, Janina is not one to pigeonhole her sonic creations to any genre. Thanks to a natural enthusiasm for underground music - stemming from her time working at Berlin DNS Record Store - Janina’s educated ear and endless experience of mixing vinyl and digital formats has led to a well-rounded taste, executed by sharp technical skills and an unyielding ability to guide dancefloors across the globe.
Giving us a glimpse into her world of dexterous selections, Janina has shared five selected cuts with us from her favourite producers right now to classic dancefloor belters…
Noha - Lingon
One of my favourite producer at the moment, talented guy, can't wait for his new stuff.
STL - Summer Breeze & Brotherhood
My favourite minimalistic house track at the moment. Lovely and warm, perfect for a warm-up set.
Forest Drive West - Static
A top high and quality dubby techno track for me. I love playing it, sounds good and works almost everywhere.
Fingers Inc. - I'm Strong
A Larry Heard Production, absolutely classic dancefloor banger.
Insanlar / Ricardo Villalobos - Kime Ne
I've had this track with me for years, always. It has its special moment like every track but if the moment is right, nothing goes wrong anymore.
