Bob Sinclar City’s Finest - Paris
I could die for spaghetti with caviar :-) not on the menu, but you can always ask the chef to cook it.
One of France’s true superstars of house music and fresh from his Ibiza residency at Heart Club, Bob Sinclar makes his hotly anticipated debut at Egg LDN Friday October 18th.
From his 1998 co-production with Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter, the Jane Fonda sampling ‘Gym Tonic’ (part of his first album ‘Paradise’), Bob has carved out a unique niche for French electronic music. From his acclaimed Africanism releases featuring Martin Solveig, David Guetta, DJ Gregory, Dimitri from Paris and Julien Jabre on tracks like ‘Slave Nation’ and ‘Bisou Sucre’ on his Yellow Productions label, to his work on the incredible disco artist Cerrone and his chart-topping house anthems, Bob Sinclar always delivers.
Disco, house and electro are all on his aural menu and as one of the longest-standing figures of the international dance music scene, and with a new ‘Electrico Romantico’ single with Robbie Williams, Bob Sinclar continues to write his own story and music that lights up the global dance floor. Here he shares some chic secrets about his fabled hometown, Paris.
City’s Finest - Paris
1. Favourite District - Marais
My home, the heart of Paris and also the gay district with so much inspiration around. I was born here, my studio is 5 minutes walk from my appartment. My mum lives close to me too.
I travel all over the world, but I always love to come back home to my roots. To reveal a secret, go to Queen Ann Tea Salon, hidden in the tiny street 5 rue Simon Le franc with the best French home made quiches and delicious cakes.
2. Best for Food: Restaurant - Atelier de Joël Robuchon
I could die for spaghetti with caviar :-) not on the menu, but you can always ask the chef to cook it.
3. Sunday Crush - Puces Saint Ouen
Biggest flea market of the city. I love going there to search for vinyls, clothes or decoration for my home. For Vintage and contemporary furniture go to renown worldwide Marché Paul Bert.
4. Back To Old Paris
To discover the city back in the day, you need to go to Montmartre area, especially up the hill to see the 'Sacré Coeur' and 'PLace du Tertre' to watch all the painters. Around there you can also find the world famous cabaret shows at the Moulin Rouge and the Lido.
5. Shopping Spot
For fans of fashion, I would recommend the Galleries Lafayette department store. In this huge department store you can find collections from the top designers worldwide to the upcoming French independent brands and all under the same roof with 2 huge buildings for men and women’s collections.
