Selected Cuts: Dense & Pika

The techno stalwarts give us a taste of what to expect from them at Egg this NYE.

Sonically prepping for their New Year’s Eve show at Egg LDN, Alex Jones and Chris Spero share five selected cuts with us ahead of hosting Egg LDN’s Main Room alongside Pan-Pot and Tobi Neumann under their Dense & Pika moniker.

Dense & Pika is the meeting of minds between Jones and Spero whose career took off in 2011, thanks to world-renowned labels Drumcode and Hypercolour supporting early releases and essentially putting their names on the electronic music map. Boosting their status as highly skilled producers by bravely taking on reworks and remixes such as Maya Jane Coles ‘Burning Bright’ and Paul Woolford’s ‘Erotic Discourse’, the pair didn’t hold back in putting their own stamp on peak time productions, gradually earning a respected and in-demand reputation in the industry.

Gaining support from international heavyweights including Dubfire, Chris Liebing and Dusky to name a few, the duo touch down in north London for another night of high octane techno to bring in the new year. Sharing a glimpse into their hefty library ahead of the show, the act leaves five tracks with us to celebrate another year of Egg LDN.

Nitzer Ebb - Join The Chant

Stone cold killer. We think this would bring people together in a positive way as the clock strikes midnight. It's also one of our fav records.

Schwefelgelb - Fokus

A particularly brutal record and the perfect way to start the new year as you mean to go on.

Ignition Technician - Throw your hands - Tortured Records

Been dropping this as the last tune of the night for a while back to a huge response. We think it would fit midnight and bringing in the new year perfectly

Underground Resistance - Transition

Maybe an obvious choice but few records carry a more positive message than this. It always, always works whatever the situation.

Dave Angel - Airborne - (Carl Craigs Drums suck remix)

Not many tunes create this kind of atmosphere on the dance floor. Carl Craig at his absolute best in our opinion and perfect for midnight.
