Meet The Residents

Get to the know the Egg residents who play together for the first time at Egg's birthday on May 7th

Egg's birthday on May 7th doesn't just welcome a hefty line-up that includes panel beating techno trio Gary Beck, Harvey McKay and Cari Lekebusch, and Anna and Christian Smith fresh off the plane from Brazil. It's also the first time that the club's three residents – including newest recruit, Ireen Amnes – appear on the same night. These are the world's future stars.

The Willers Brothers

1 Willers900x240

Only moving to London in 2012 after an upbringing around the North, The Willers Brothers (Sean and Liam) quickly established themselves as firm favourites on the floor of Egg thanks to their groove driven house sound.

Originally raised on their dad's diet of hip hop and d&b, these days their musical heroes are Apollonia, D'Julz and John Dimas. But their formative influences are still at the fore in 'Mind Craft Glasses', their forthcoming release on My Favourite Freaks Music whose dubby bassline and 909 beats are accentuated by a rap vocal. It's this dancefloor attitude that has won the track fans from Yousef to Marco Carola.

Having co-hosted shows on stations such as Hoxton FM and bloop, while also performing across Europe from Spain to Romania, you can be sureThe Willers Brothers are just warming up...

Kyle E

Watching his older brother's involvement in the grime scene gave Kyle a taste for music while still in his teens. It was filling in for a no show DJ, however, while working at Egg doing sound and lighting that gave him his big break.

Impressing behind the turntables straight away, he immediately seized the opportunity with both hands. From touring Brazil alongside Anderson Noise to guesting on Christian Smith's Tronic Radio Show, playing the final ever Trade to becoming A&R for Egg London's forthcoming label, Kyle has shown his techno-leaning tastes resonate with a crowd.

Furthering his position as Saturday night resident, he's moved into production, releasing 'Illusion' on Familia Records last year. In a sign of his growing stature, this track was picked up and signed to John Digweed’s ‘Live On South Beach’ compilation. With a live show in the works, expect more music very soon.

Ireen Amnes

1 Ireen900x240

Head of her own roving techno party Under My Feet., Rome-born, London-based Ireen Amnes is the latest addition to Egg's regular roster. Schooled in techno, minimal and acid, as well as the tougher, techier side of house, last year she scooped the Emerging Ibiza wildcard winner prize, earning her a guest slot at Space Ibiza alongside Carl Cox.

She's following up this momentum in the studio, where the multi-instrumentalist has not only been producing tracks but also song-writing and singing. With tracks coming on a compilation for Berlin-based Upperberry and another already available on Coco Cole's 'Say Yes: Volume II’ compilation, her next release is lined-up for the debut Egg compilation with a full solo EP already in the works.

Last year's Space performance has also earned her a number of return visits to Ibiza this season, with appearances at Sankeys for Unusual Suspects and Space again for Carl Cox.
