Black Asteroid: Selected Cuts

A sonic glimpse into the mind of Black Asteroid, Byran Black aka Black Asteroid

A sonic glimpse into the mind of Black Asteroid, Byran Black aka Black Asteroid shares five of his favourite selected cuts, ranging from 80's pop synth to industrial, hard as nails techno.

A former engineer for the multi-faceted artist Prince, one can only expect Black Asteroid's music collection to cover an unpredictable plethora of sounds, almost as unpredictable as his former employee. Celebrating the tracks of renowned producers through the years, Black explains what initially drew him to each tune...

Threshold of Faith - Ben Frost

Just a beautiful slab of noise with just the right amount of ambience, so it's not completely overwhelming.

To The Moon And Back - Fever Ray

I love the vocals on this. Various pitched vocals, deep and high, with tribal percussion. Her music is super dark but quirky.

This Isn’t the Place - Nine Inch Nails

From the latest EP this has a cinematic quality and something he might do for a film, but with a falsetto vocal that gives this haunting track a human touch.

Topas - Byetone Experimental

Glitchy electronic music that has a techno pulse. A sound I’m experimenting with at the moment. similar to ‘Moon 1’ from my album ‘Thrust’.

Glory - Cold Cave

Their new single and I was lucky to have them sing on 2 tracks for my album.
