KURV: Sigala, Jaded, De$ignated

On November 20th, chart topper Sigala comes to Egg London with Jaded and De$ignated. Originally from Norfolk, Sigala first got into music at age 8, when he began to play the piano. He then went on to study a BA honours degree in commercial music, what ultimately lead to his success today. His debut single, "Easy Love", came about after he drunk a six-pack of Desperados, in sheer tiredness and frustration after being asked to perform a thirty seventh mix for a popular artist, and downloaded an acapella of the Jackson 5's single "ABC". He stated that the record was written on a Sunday evening out of a desire to create music for himself outside of the confines of "somebody asking me to create a song that had a certain sound to it or had to be a certain way”. Easy Love song entered the UK Singles Chart at number 71, based on streams alone. The following week, it reached number 1. As the brainchild of Nima Bazrcar and Rory Bowyer, De$ignated have enjoyed a meteoric rise to the forefront of electronic music. Fusing the hypnotic beauty of psychedelic synths and dream-like vocals with hard-hitting, face-crushing bass lines, the pair have quickly become one of the hottest properties in the UK. Ultra creative and passionately immersed in the pulsating heart of the 4x4 canvas, De$ignated are fearlessly setting the standard for a psychedelic revival in house music. With experience and an end product that belies their age, massive things are expected from this trailblazing duo over the coming years.
