Under the Radar: Spektre

Ahead of their Respekt showcase, Spektre shares five emerging artists with us who deserve a shout as ones to watch this year...

Heading up Respekt Recordings since 2009, Spektre has built a respected platform to release his own sounds as well as those of his friends counting Thomas Schumacher, Juliet Fox & many more.

A fully established imprint in its own right, the likes of Adam Beyer and Laurent Garnier have shown support for some of Respekt’s driving releases. Showcasing the finest talent signed to the label, Spektre brings OC & Verde and Transcode b2b Sama for the club’s first Respekt showcase on 2nd March.

Ahead of the night, Spektre shares five emerging artists with us who deserve a shout as ones to watch this year…

Gary Burrows

Gary had his first release on our label Respekt back in 2017, and it has been great to watch his profile grow and see him progress as a DJ and producer. His style is definitely towards the harder end of what we play, but always with a catchy hook or cheeky sample to keep things interesting.

 Deep Dimension

Another no-nonsense outfit, these guys have only appeared on our radar very recently, with releases on Rekids and Suara amongst others. They seem to be a conduit channelling the essence of 90s Dutch rave culture into a contemporary techno format: banging, up-front and fun - right up our street!

Bolster

A Belgian duo who came to our attention recently with an absolute corker on Orange Recordings called "Forms". Really well crafted, precise, melodic techno. Definitely big things to come from these two.

Origin Riddim

Origin Riddim also made his debut on Respekt and also wears his rave influences on his sleeve. Cleverly referencing the more UK-based sounds of jungle and hardcore, but with fresh, sharp production and unconventionally devastating arrangements.

Footwork Fuel

A real newcomer based in Toronto. We got handed a demo when we toured Canada over new-years which immediately grabbed our attention with slick production and arresting musicality. Definitely, a name to keep your eye on.
