Teramo’s Finest: Leon

We got to know a little more about the Italian producer and how his home town shaped his taste in music, food, pubs & more ahead of his B2B with Pirupa...

Born and raised in the Italian city of Teramo, Leon’s obsession with house music started at a young age after discovering the music of Danny Tenaglia, Todd Terry & Laurent Garnier, something he still regards as a major influence in his productions to this day.

Carving out his own sound with releases on Cocoon, 8bit, Snatch! & many more, Leon will showcase what he’s sonically all about during our B2B session on 22nd February with fellow B2B partner, Pirupa, on our Middle Floor.

As a producer who is immensely proud of his roots, we got to know a little more about Leon and how his home town of Teramo shaped his taste in music, food, pubs & more…

ULTRA VIOLET

I'm very close to this club that opened in 2001 and where I was Resident DJ and for the first time, I began to share the booth with international DJs like Steve Lawler, Pete Tong, Paul Woolford and many others.

There was an amazing Martin Audio sound system and the club was completely new. I also did the DJ programming as well as being a resident for 3 years they were amazing and wonderful years. It was a magical place for my city but it’s is unfortunately now closed.

AL FARO BEACH

My city is very close to the sea, 10 minutes by car and you find yourself in a beach area full of beautiful places where in summer it’s full of tourists who come from all over Italy. I remember Al Faro Beach because there is always a nice atmosphere with lounge music where you can watch the sunset with your friends and the people you love.

PRATI DI TIVO

I am also very lucky because my city is also a 20-minute drive from the mountains so during the winter you can practice any snow sports. Prati Di Tivo is a very intimate place but with great restaurants and very nice snowboarding slopes. It's surrounded by nature and gives you a sense of peace and freedom.

LIVERPOOL PUB

The best burger in my city and in my opinion one of the best I've ever eaten! It seems strange that in such a small city there is a place where you can eat such great American style food.

D.ONE

It’s a Michelin Star restaurant and is an incredible culinary experience. A journey into the world of cuisine typical of central Italy all in a gourmet style. We have another Michelin Star restaurant here called Zunica close the mountain and Arca close the sea! And all these are amazing.

My region is very famous for its food and is one of the best places in Italy to eat. There are several star chefs of Teramo working in the best restaurants in the world, and this makes me very proud.
