Selected Cuts: Monika Kruse
Ahead of Familia's 6th Birthday celebrations on Saturday, the Terminal M boss shares five Selected Cuts with us which she’s rinsing at the moment…
Monika Kruse has had an intense year. Having played at a number of prolific events such as Tomorrowland, Music On and Awakenings so far, she’s shared her billings with the likes of Carl Cox, Dubfire, ANNA and many more. But such a hectic schedule hasn’t slowed down her production, as she’s released a slew of tracks on Higher Pulse, Colore and Natura Viva Black amongst others this year.
Continuing to take her classic sound of pulsating, enticing techno to a myriad of dance floors worldwide, Monika joins us for Familia’s 6th birthday for what’s certainly going to be a birthday to remember at the club. Ahead of the night, the Terminal M boss shares five Selected Cuts with us which she’s rinsing at the moment…
Thomas Schumacher & Victor Ruiz - Apollo 11
The dream team collaboration delivered one the best EPs this year. Warm sounds and always a pushing groove. I am playing the whole EP and it always was one of my highlights in my sets.
Joyhauser - RTRiG
The new EP on my label Terminal M of Joyhauser. I love all tracks on it, but especially the track RTRIG has a cool combination of acid and deep melodies combined with the hard ravy bass-drum of Joyhauser! I met these guys when we played in Belgium this year in March together and I became a big fan of them as they are really nice guys and great musicians.
Steve Mulder - Plankton
This was the last track of my 3 hours Set at Connect Festival. I always like to play a track that sticks in your head when I play. So the strings in that track were for me, a perfect ending of my set plus the track still has a lot of power too.
Obscure Shape & SHDW - Der Sturm
I like their 90s influence on this track. The chord sound, a bit of breakbeat - these guys are unique.
Green Velvet - Flash (Eats Everything remix )
I love to play older tracks once in a while. Oldies but Goodies! It is hard to do a remix if the original is such a bomb. But Eats Everything gave the track a funky groove, and the remix did not lose the charm of the original at all.
