RECORD STORE DAY 2018

We’re taking part in this year’s Record Store Day...

It’s probably the most anticipated event on any vinyl lover’s calendar. This Saturday, Record Store Day will take place all over the world and here in London, it’s set to be one of the sunniest days of 2018, so it’s fair to say there’ll be an infectious buzz of energy throughout the vinyl haunts dotted across the city.

We’re taking part in this year’s Record Store Day by sharing a 50% discount on the freshly pressed wax released on our What Came First imprint. Some of the club's closest friends have produced for us, including NEUMANN. and The Advent which are currently available on our online shop. Simply apply code RECORD STORE DAY at the checkout.

Also on Record Store Day, we'll be heading down to Phonica Records to check out the Special DJs playing throughout the afternoon. At night, our debauched Berlin Berlin party kicks off at 23:00 and ahead of show, our team behind the night - DJs, performers and organisers - have shared significant records with us that have impacted their sonic library and taste in electronic music.

Mss VTK [Pornceptual] - Massive Attack - ‘Mezzanine’

I'm a huge fan of Massive Attack music, they kind of were the reason I started to dig and collect music. "Mss Vtk" the name under which I produce and play, is kind of a chapeau bas to them.

Fidelity Kastrow [Sisyphos Resident] - James Brown

That was a James Brown double LP (must have been 'Revolution of the Mind' or a 'Best Of James Brown') together with a couple of Motown 7inch singles with my Jackson 5 favourites, most definitely including 'Ben' which was before I even knew techno existed, and my music taste was heavily influenced by West Berlin radio stations by and for the US-American military forces stationed in West Berlin.

Dj Jauche [Berlin All- Star] - Kurtis Blow - ‘Kurtis Blow’ & ‘Lil Louis - 'French Kiss’

My first record was the first album of Kurtis Blow - "Kurtis Blow“ from 1980 but… I had to order this record through my family, who were living in West Germany because I was born in East Berlin. So the first record I bought myself after the wall came down in 1989 was Lil Louis´s - 'French Kiss’.

Luther Vine [Berlin Berlin Resident] - Black Ice Productions Presents Union Camp 'Playtime Kids’ EP

Deepneue [Pornceptual] - Surgeon - 'Force + Form’

Jonty Skrufff [Sisyphos] - The Specials - ‘Ghost Town’

Hans Hess [Berlin Berlin] - Blondie - 'Heart of Glass'

Ricardo Castro [Berlin Berlin] - Information Society - ‘Think’

Tafkanik [Homostash] - Maanam - Mental Cut

Samantha Togni [Kunstkammer] Bad Religion - Suffer

To celebrate RSD we are offering £10 Tickets to Berlin Berlin: Pornceptual, Fidelity Kastrow, Peter Schumann, Dj Jauche, Homostash, Jonty Skrufff...
