With his latest release ‘Drought EP’ hot on Dystopian and added to previous outings for the Afterlife and Unterland labels, German producer Monoloc is one of the most exciting names on Berlin’s techno circuit at the moment.
Arriving on the scene endorsed by Dixon and Âme who included his "Flaneur" on the Innervisions Secret Weapons Part 7 EP his impressive discography also includes Hotflush and the Tale of Us' Afterlife compilation. 1. Bolz Bolz - Take A Walk
This track is from 2000. It reminds me of my first gigs in the Frankfurt club "Nightlife". Back then there was a party series called “Kurbelwelle", which was promoted by 3 guys that I was friends with.
2. Technasia - Force
The track was often played at open-air parties in Frankfurt around 2000. There was a lot of outdoor raves in the city, a really nice time. I still have a lot of memories of cool parties from that era.
3. Plaid - Lilith (feat Björk)
It was one of the first more experimental tracks I bought on vinyl and I played it permanently at home. It’s also how I discovered Warp Records which I still dig a lot today.
4. Closer Music - Ride
I've played this track pretty often at private afterhours. Closer Music were sort of a phenomenon. They only released one album and then disappeared. The complete album on Kompakt influenced me a lot and I still like to hear it today because it’s absolutely timeless.
5. Radioactive Man - The Mezz
One of my absolute favourite tracks when it comes to broken beats. It has a perfectly flowing groove and together with the synths it creates a great energy.
