Get to know: Eric Sneo

Eric Sneo is one of the busiest producers this side of the Atlantic. After playing for us in 2017, the German producer returns to the club fresh off the back of his ‘Magics’ EP on Transmit Recordings. 

Having played at the club in 2017, Eric makes a welcome return to our Middle Floor on 9th February alongside fellow producers Roberto Capuano, Paride Saraceni and our resident Luther VIne. Ahead of the night, we caught up with Eric to see what he’s been up to and what’s next on the horizon for him throughout the year… 

Where in the world are you right now? 

I am in Granada, Spain right now, playing at Industrial Copera tonight. This club has a long tradition in techno here in Spain. Will be fun… 

You posted a picture on Facebook recently, fine-tuning a 303 in your studio. What’s your studio schedule like these days, do you follow a strict routine to churn out tracks daily? 

I always have a “to do list” in my Studio and when I have good energy the tracks come out quite fast. After such a heavy production period I need also some timeouts. Creativity is not endless. 

Your latest release ‘Magics’ on Transmit is excellent, it’s great to see it on such a prolific label. How did you first meet Transmit’s head-honcho DJ Boris? 

I am very happy with this release and the main track “Magics” also entered Beatport Techno Top 100. The track has some melodic parts and then goes straight back to the beat. I have been working with DJ Boris and Transmit for many years now. Great to have his support! 

Ahead of your return to London on 9th February, what do you like about playing for a crowd here and about the city itself? 

I love the city and also loved my previous gig at EGG. The energy is amazing and the location and people as well. 

Looking on to 2019, what’s next for you on the production and gig front? 

Just finished the tracks together with techno legend DJ Rush for Tronic and I am about to finish many releases and cooperations. For example, I do a special back to back performance with DJ Murphy this year and we will also do a release together. So many things ahead, looking forward to it.
