Back To Mine: Eli Iwasa

Warung’s new resident has selected five records, covering a plethora of genres which have shaped her delectable taste

Eli Iwasa has been integral to Brazil’s dance music community. As the previous booker and resident DJ of Club 88 in Campinas, Iwasa has always had a strong presence in Brazil’s electronic soundscape. She’s been responsible for bringing some the biggest names in house and techno to South American soil from Nina Kraviz to Chris Liebing and at the same time, has earned a reputable status as a flourishing DJ with a treasure trove of tracks touching on galactic techno and pulsating, sensory melodies.

She’s the kind of artist who curates her sets for a through connection with her audience, gripping her dancefloor with a range of captivating and highly reactionary productions. Recently announced as Warung’s new resident, Iwasa returns to Egg on 16th June with her fellow Warung affiliate Leo Janiero to accompany Thugfucker billed to headline and make their Egg LDN debut.

Ahead of the night, Iwasa has selected five cuts, covering a plethora of genres which have shaped her delectable taste as well as records she likes to play at home…

The Cure - Desintegration

One my favourite bands ever and at home, I don't listen to dance floor tracks at all when I am not working.

Portishead - The Rip

Portishead has been my favourite soundtrack for all kinds of moments at home for ages.

Apparat - You Don't Know Me

When it comes to electronic music, this is the kind of stuff I listen to at home.

Tim Maia - Não Quero Dinheiro

Think sunny Sundays with friends at home.

Otis Redding - Try a Little Tenderness

When I am chilling at home alone, this is a must.
