Techno pioneers, house heathens and style sirens make their bi-monthly pilgrimage to Egg London for Sabajaq on Saturday, June 17th. Originating in East London, this party and its creative cult have been pushing the forefront of clubland with bleeding edge music, performances and installations over the past two years.

This month sees the launch of the Vanguard Series, focusing on pioneering talents that have helped shape the sound of dance music. Premiering is DJ Hell, head of German label International Gigolo DJs. Bursting onto the techno scene in 1992 with the release of ‘My Definition of House Music’ on Belgium's defining R&S Records, his influential label had provided a home for artists such as Tiga, Miss Kittin And The Hacker and Justice, while Hell himself recently released his fifth album 'Zukunftsmusik' to critical acclaim.

Joining him in the techno room is Wax Wings, a rising East London star who has been on tour with Maya Jane Coles both in the UK and Japan. Sabajaq residents Jim Warboy and Maze & Master unleash their relentless sound alongside Egg resident Kyle E.

Heading up the house and disco room is Severino, whose fluid and expert knowledge of these sounds is highlighted by his monthly show on Peckham's Balamii Radio. He's a vital part of the long-standing Luke Solomon and Derrick Carter founded Classic imprint, as well as a resident at Horse Meat Disco.

Hifi Sean, who joins him, has a similarly rich history. From acid house era fame with 'I'm Free' as The Soup Dragons to his recent 'Testify' hit taken from his 'Ft.' album, featuring a stunning array of talent, he's been a perennial instigator on the UK dance scene. With an album coming on Crosstown Rebels, vocalist and DJ Josh Caffe promises to be a future star. Completing the room is Joe Roberts, resident DJ at East London party Mouth To Mouth and half of production duo Local Group.

Marking the first release of a new compilation series, Take It To Church present live vocal performances come from Ruth Brown, known for her performances in Dreamgirls and The Voice, plus Shona Carmen and Fi McCluskey, while Nubian D hosts.

Making his Sabajaq debut is Choronzon, an integral figure in London's underground scene and resident of techno bastion Kaos. He will be joined Dahc Dermur VIII and Venice Calypso, two unique artists that have been involved with Sabajaq from year zero.
