Selected Cuts: Thomas Schumacher

German techno powerhouse has shared five selected cuts ahead of his set at Egg LDN on 31st March...

Returning to Egg LDN alongside Wehbba, Cosmic Boys and more on 31st March, German electronic producer Thomas Schumacher plays the Middle Floor for the first time this year. Schumacher’s unparalleled sound stems from his discovery of Depeche Mode at the age of 11, instantly opening up an endless soundscape within electronic music.

Schumacher still burns with curiosity and compares himself to a captain steering a ship: ‘I purposely steer my sets into rough waters. I want to help people get out of their heads and into their bodies.’ With this in mind, Schumacher has shared five selected cuts which do just that.

A meandering ride of acid techno, atmospheric melodies and distorted crowd pleasers ahead of the show…

Thomas Schumacher - Unconfused (Noir Music)

This track from my Natural Rhythm II EP lived for 181 days on the Beatport Techno Top 100 charts. I am really proud of this.

Frankie Serious - Computed Tool (Switch Off Records)

A bit of an obscure release, nevertheless this is Acid Techno of the highest order.

Bastinov - Wormwhole (Etruria Beat)

No one combines classy, atmospheric melodies with pummelling Techno beats like this Italian producer.

Subjected - Black Charm (Arts)

My favourite label of the past 12 months, Arts is going from strength to strength.

Hush & Sleep - Dimensional (Ellora)

This young label from Holland has already caught the attention of some big names with it’s unique and original take on modern Techno.
