Selected Cuts: Secret Cinema

A key figure in the Dutch music scene since 1991, Secret Cinema is known for his kaleidoscope of sounds covering shady techno to arcane electronica. Taking his substantial collection of sonic pleasures worldwide, the producer has played Berghain, Womb, Space Ibiza and every major festival in the Netherlands. Heading up his own Gem Records imprint, Jeroen Verheij aka Secret Cinema remains active on the electronic soundscape and constantly in tune with emerging talent thanks to his weekly radio show on the Dutch national station, Slam!. Returning to Egg LDN for Familia’s February instalment, Verheij gives us a trippy glimpse into his record bag with some of his most recent productions brought to the fore...

Finder - Wings

This is exactly how I like my techno to be. Has a groove, warmth, colour but still hypnotic. By the way, it is an alias of Radial.

Blawan - 993

This guy is just breaking the limits every time. Well timed and this will live up any techno set.

3. Secret Cinema and Reinier Zonneveld - Shifting Sand

Been hammering this for over a year now, it is unreleased but still one of my favourite tracks to play. It just sounds great on any system

4. Kasst - Base 4

Solid experimental hypnotic and psychedelic. It has all that I long for in a late night techno track. The trancy break always catches the crowd.

5. Secret Cinema and Egbert - I Can Feel it Rising

My latest release with Egbert, so how can I not mention it. It is a party track and pleases the crowd anywhere. The groove and bass in this one is what I lately seem to miss in many techno hits.
