Selected Cuts: Gabriel Ananda

Ahead of his return to Egg LDN on 30th June, Ananda shares fives selected cuts with us which are likely to make an appearance within the caverns of our Middle Floor…

Hopping between gritty techno to more melodic, uplifting rhythms over the last decade, Gabriel Ananda is an artist who refuses to sit still, releasing on Bedrock Records, Truesoul, Suara and Einmusika, before launching a plethora of solid productions on his own imprint, Soulful Techno Records.  Seeing himself as a deliverer of music than solely a creator, Ananda sees DJing as a gift and a pure reason to connect with people. Along with an extensive library of new, old and uncategorised cuts, Ananda has developed a strong ability to adapt around any crowd, setting and tone no matter what time of the day or night it is.

Ahead of his return to Egg LDN on 30th June, Ananda shares fives selected cuts with us which are likely to make an appearance within the caverns of our Middle Floor…

 Misjah - What is

This track has everything. Groove, energy, 2 killer breaks and fresh sounds. Rocks every party and still goes into almost every set and this after more than 25 years. The 101 of Techno in perfection.

Timo Maas - Bite The Dust

One of the very rare tracks that combine triolic and straight rhythm and that so naturally and also functional that one could think it would be quite normal. Besides, the track always keeps you in a good mood, still...

Argy - Unreliable Virgin (Tim Green Remix)

When Tim Green is neither melodic nor housy, but does techno, something unique, fun, groovy and energetically crazy comes out, which no other artist can do in this way. Tim Green has only done this twice and as there is nothing else in this style, I won´t miss it and still play it a lot.

Black Labs - Space Bar

A formative track from my first days in Techno. The positive, psychedelic, expanding energy is almost unique. If I want this energy in a set, I have to unpack this 23-year-old goodie as no one else has ever done it so good or similar.

Röyksopp - Sordid affair (Maceo Plex Remix)

Still the best track of the last years, what can you say. Abnormally good. It is like lightning, thunder, sun, snow and 35 degrees come together.
