Russ Yallop: Four To The Floor

One of Crosstown Rebel's affiliates, Russ Yallop broke onto the house scene with 2010's Gwen McRae sampling 'Rock Me' and has since dropped tracks on Avotre, Material and Nervous.

Joining Route 94 and Pawsa at Egg Presents this Friday 24th (full info and ticket here), Russ gave us the lowdown on his current four for the floor. In his own words, “Here are some jams that have been doing some heavy damage the last few months for me.”

Ruben Mandolini – 'Inred'

This track really stands out since it's like an old school funky track, but with modern day sensibilities i.e. it bangs hard!

Di Chiara Brothers - 'Tobacco (Russ Yallop Remix)'

Some shameful (less?) self-promotion here. My most recent remix has been doing the business since its inception a few months ago. Similar to the track above, a funky vibe, but with a seriously subby EZ Rollers-esque bassline.

Christian Nielsen - 'Madmen'

I've been a big fan of Christian Nielsen for a long time and he really smashes it with this record on Skream's Of Unsound Mind label.

Arado & Den Ishu – 'I Know'

To finish, a golden oldie that still packs a big punch - eight years old but still thumps. I remember raving to Dice playing this at Miami '09!
