Roger Sanchez Interview

New York's S-Man looks back to the future before he take a trip to Weiss City as part of Toolroom Live

Operating under a dizzying array of different monikers in his early 90's days, New Yorker Roger Sanchez emerged from the city's golden era of nightlife as one of its biggest exports, alongside the likes of Erick Morillo, David Morales and Danny Tenaglia. It wasn't until 2001, however, that he had his biggest UK hit with the Toto-sampling 'Another Chance', a moment of filter genius with a looping vocal that took it to the top of the charts.

With a new wave of house producers now drawing inspiration from the genre's heyday, more recently Roger has resurrected his S-Man alias to team up with the likes of Huxley, with whom he released 'Callin'' back in 2014. Since then he's been releasing S-Man's darker, more modern house sound on the likes of Toolroom Trax and his own UNDR THE RDR label.

On Saturday 1st of October he joins the Weiss City room of Toolroom Live, playing alongside Weiss, Mat.Joe and more. In the main room, meanwhile, Mark Knight is joined by Technasia, Adrian Hour, Metodi Hristov and Mark Storie. Buy tickets here.

Roger caught up with Skiddle to talk about his summer in Barcelona, his current crew and his forthcoming releases. Read it here.
