Promise Land New years Day Preview

Promised Land are starting the year as they mean to go on as they showcase some of the most revered talent to emerge from UK dance a music this New Years Day.

Headlining is a man that embodies everything that the UK scene stands for; innovative, forward-thinking, dedicated and creative, the one and only Mr C will be taking centre stage. 

Having first made waves into the burgeoning London Acid house scene in the late 80s with appearances on Kiss FM and for the now legendary RIP parties at Clink St, his first successes actually came as part of the cult 80s group The Shamen. Their now infamous track ‘Ebeneezer Goode’ shot to number one in 1992 and gave him a taste of the high life.

Having founded his own imprint Plink Plonk in the mid 90s, he would go on to throw a number of illegal raves called The Drop. This placed him perfectly at the heart of the promoters within London, and so when his close friend Layo (of Layo & Buswacka) had a brand new venue ready to be converted into a new nightclub, Mr C was his first choice of business partner. Arguable the most innovative club in London was formed, the now legendary The End. Here they would go on to break new ground previously untouched in the London scene - making a successful formula of underground house and techno with drum & bass nights as well. Through the early to mid-2000s it would play host to some of the most respected names in world dance music including Richie Hawtin, Erol Alkan, Friction, DJ Sneak and many more.

His sets encompass all of his past experiences; house, techno, acid and more, he’s a perfect choice to kick off the new year. He will be joined by close friend and collaborator Eddie Richards, as well as another household name from the pages of UK dance music history - Brandon Block.
