Mix of the Week: Sano

Cómeme's Bedroom Tapes curator delves into the best unreleased music from across the globe

If you've not heard of the label Cómeme before, welcome to its weird and wonderful world connected by Matias Aguayo. Born in Chile but raised in Germany, Aguayo started his career in Cologne with Kompakt. Cómeme, however, combines these techno leanings with the rhythms and cadences of South America, merging into a distinctive sound all of its own.

Columbian producer Sano (from the infamous Medellín) is one of the label's newer recruits and runs its Bedroom Tapes series. Mixing unreleased tracks from across the globe, his eleventh edition starts with a slowed down voice talking about how we're all turning ourselves into cyborgs before rolling out an hour of tracks displayed the same dark, percussive, funk as Cómeme's output.

If you enjoy, be sure to check the label's SoundCloud further for more mix series including Christian S's always excellent Dance Show.
