Loco & Jam: Four To The Floor

Northern Ireland's premier techno duo prepare for Sabajaq with four personal classics

Northern Irish duo Loco & Jam make their return to Sabajaq this Saturday 22nd for another set of rolling techno energy, as exemplified by their forthcoming 'Boundaries of Sonic' on Tronic's annual 'Secret Weapons' compilation.

Joining Jay Lumen, Pleasurekraft and more (full info and tickets here), we asked them for their fail-safe Four to the Floor. In their own words, “We always like to  drop a classic or two, so we decided to go down the classics route for this one...”

Joris Voorn – 'MPX309'

This track is just an absolute killer… We first heard Nic Fanciulli drop this on the Space Terrace for We Love back in 08/09 and it just completely took the roof off. This is a perfect example of how sometimes less is better when making music. We played it at a festival in Argentina two weeks ago in front of 70,000 people and to say it went off is an understatement.

Joey Beltram - 'Energy Flash'

This one needs no introduction! It's just one of those records every DJ should have with them at a show. Probably the best techno record ever made and a track that's always gonna tear up the floor.

Renato Cohen – 'Pontape'

Another absolute classic. We first heard Carl Cox drop this at his Space show back in 2003 and it's actually one of the records that made us fall proper in love with techno. Coxy did the bootleg 'Just Kick' but we think nothing beats the original.

Mathew Jonson - 'Marionette (Adam Beyer Remix)'

The original of this track just tops everything, but Adam’s remix gives those tough beats that just beefs it up on the dance floor. We first heard Lee Burridge play this in our local city Derry quite a few years back and spent days searching to see who did the remix.
