Influences: Josh Butler

Josh Butler has become one of the UK’s most revered talents in house music, releasing an amalgam of dancefloor belters on the likes of Noir, Cajual and MadTech since his breakthrough track ‘Got a Feeling’ on Chase&Status’ imprint, MTA. Butler returns to our Middle Floor once again to carry out a strenuous workout on our KV2 system on 25th May with his Origins brand alongside Audiojack and Mark Jenkins and ahead of the show, the Leeds based producer shares five tracks with us which have moulded his sonic library into a formidable collection of bouncy blends through the ages…

Faithless - Insomnia

Insomnia by Faithless was actually the first CD I ever bought, and to this day it is still one of the best tracks in my collection! Every so often I'll play it out and it still sounds just as exciting as the first time I ever heard it.

Jon Hopkins - Open Eye Signal

Jon Hopkin's really separates the men from the boys when it comes to production. His music is something I find extremely refreshing in today's musical climate where it seems like everyone with a laptop wants to ‘produce’.

Kerri Chandler - Atmosphere

‘Atmosphere' was of the first underground US House tracks I ever heard, and I have been hooked by the track itself and also almost everything Kerri has ever produced since. Pure genius!

Ulrich Schnauss - Monday Paracetamol

This is a perfect example of the style of music that I listen to when not in a club. I can switch my both my mind and ears off to this. I actually had the pleasure of working with Ulrich not too long ago whilst working on some material for one of my other aliases - he is a true gentleman and an extremely talented man.

MJ Cole - Sincere

When I was first getting into electronic music, my only real source of at that time was buying compilation CDs. 'Sincere' appeared on quite a few of them and rightly so, it was and still is one of the classiest UK garage tracks ever produced.
