Influences: Geddes

London based producer Geddes has been heavily involved in the city’s electronic music community over the last 10 years, tracing all the way back to his roots at the celebrated Mulletover parties in 2004, right up to launching his own label, Nofitsate, in 2013.

Since then, both the label and sonic career of Geddes has taken off in full force with the Londoner releasing on Moodmusic, Mobilee and Tsuba to name a few. Having just dropped his new release ‘Playground’ on his own NFS imprint, Geddes is busier than ever and has already played a slew of shows this summer spanning Farr Festival, Love International, Gottwood and lots more.

Joining us straight from Eastern Electrics at Morden Park to the official EE Afterparty hosted throughout the club on August 4th, the tasteful selector shares 5 tracks with us which have influenced his discernible discography since his days of warehouse raving…

Liberty City - ‘If You Love Someone’ The Murk Groove

A record that I played endlessly for years when I was organising warehouse parties, having always been a fan for Murk - this was a record I’d never heard before and instantly fell in love.

Basement Jax - ‘Fly Life’

Heard Ricardo play this on the Terrace at Amnesia and it totally blew my mind, perfect festival record and have enjoyed playing it over the years.

Mike Dunn - ‘God Made Me Phunky’

Luciano smashed this record in 2006 when I lived in Ibiza and was resident at Space. Never leaves my side, killer baseline and vibes all around.

Robert Hood - ‘Dancer’

One of the best Techno producers out there. ‘Dancer’ ultimate party tune that I just love playing.

Headman - ‘It’s rough’ (Chicken Lips remix)

Signifies my time in East London as a young man, Chicken Lips were on fire at the time and this remix of theirs still sounds so fresh today. Head’s down gritty bass that reminds me of the electro sounds of that era. Classic.
