Ibiza to London with Adam Shelton

10 tracks that have lasting memories between the white isle and the big smoke.

Relishing in quality house and techno during the early 80’s in his hometown of Birmingham, Adam Shelton established himself in the UK’s renowned underground music scene as one to watch before earning his big break with Visionquest in 2013.

As well as running his own label ‘One Records’ alongside fellow burgeoning producer Subb-an, Shelton quickly caught the attention of the Unusual Suspects family on the Balearic Isle. Known for his deep, melodic grooves and ability to seamlessly guide any dancefloor worldwide, it was only a matter of time before the young Brit was welcomed back regularly at the word-of-mouth party for both solo and infamous B2B sets with Subb-An.

Returning to Egg on the 23rd September with the Unusual Suspects crew including Subb-An, Dewalta, Alex & Digby and more, Shelton shares his most memorable tracks celebrating his time between London and Ibiza…

H-Foundation – Hear dis sound – Siesta records

This track sums up a key time in Ibiza, around 2000 when it was drums and tribal sounds, my favourite H-foundation track and one that took the west coast sound global.

Josh one – Contemplation (King Britt Funke Mix) – Electromatrix records

This track was a killer in London at Secret Sundaze, Vertigo and many other parties I’m sure, I remember this dark army style boat party thrown by Vertigo and first hearing this, it was played by every DJ that day. Always a good sign.

Marschmellows – Soulpower (Jazzanova Reworked) – INFRAcom records

This track reminds me of Co-Op at plastic people, I loved this sound around 2002/3, a good time for Sonar Kollective label, This one reworked by Jazzanova was a killer on that sound system down there.

Theo Parrish – Falling up (Carl Craig Remix) – Third Ear Records

Matthew Styles, T-bar on a Sunday, this was made for that, Carl Craig is the master of the remix, you don’t get many better combinations than him and Theo Parrish.

Laurent Garnier – Man With The Red Face – F Communications Records

I saw Laurent Garnier play an 8 hour set on space Terrace and play this, I can’t remember many better vibes in a club than that.

Peace Division – Be U 4t – Low Pressings Records

Peace Division Nailed Ibiza and Clive Henry Still is, really trippy grooves just how you want it in DC10, a defining track of that club for me.

DJ Ali (featuring Tim Fuller) – You Don’t Know – Classic Records

When I used to go and see Mark Farina at the Key he used to drop it, TDK Festival was where I first saw him and first heard this. R.I.P DJ Ali x

Sasse – Soul Sounds – Mood music

Warehouse Vibe, I still play this in London now, it’s a really solid track for the bigger rooms. When Jamie jones used to run warehouse parties names DJs can dance this got played a good few times.

Lionel Hampton – Vibramatic – (Joakim remix) – Crippled Dick Hot Wax Records

Masterful remix from Joakim, This defines a time for me when I started running parties, I heard this kick off so many times in London when I started running events that it became a regular for me.

Matt John – The rising scope – Perlon Records

This is a bad boy track from Matt John, Summer 2006 Anthem in Ibiza and a track that really sealed Perlon as a killer label in my head.
