An internationally renowned electronic artist and remix connoisseur, Mikael Nordgren aka Tiger Stripes returns to Egg LDN once again for a rolling techno session to kick off our 2018 Saturday bookings.

Dominating the Main Room with a trusty selection of deep techno and bouncy tech house, the Swede producer continues to guide dance floors around the world while consistently earning slots in iconic clubs spanning Berlin, Colombia, Lebanon, Melbourne, Tbilisi, Ibiza and his native home of Sweden. Gracing an impressive range of imprints including Drumcode, Hot Creations and Knee Deep in Sound, momentous tracks like ‘Taking Over’ ft. Zahra [Hotttax] and ‘Body Trip [Truesoul] affirmed his reputation as a dedicated and continuously evolving producer and DJ over the last ten years.

Ahead of his upcoming gig, we caught up with Nordgren to look at the highlights of the year and how he puts that Tiger Stripes stamp on each of his celebrated remixes.

What’s the electronic music scene like in Stockholm at the moment? Are there any emerging artists from the city grabbing your attention?

Markus Enochson is doing a great comeback into electronic music and his new stuff is hot. Some of the tracks I have released on my own Strange Idols label and there is also a great EP coming out on Mobilee early 2018.

You’ve remixed a plethora of tracks produced by highly respected artists including the likes of Moby, Maya Jane Coles and Dennis Ferrer. How do you approach remixing tracks from such esteemed artists?

No matter what artist, big or small, every remix I do is just as important as producing an original Tiger Stripes track for me. I don’t save my best Ideas for my own tracks, I go all in, trying to make the remix great, different and hopefully “better” than the original mix.

Do you have a particular artist that you have yet to collaborate with and who remains a goal to work within the studio at some point down the line?

Not really no, I’m fine working by myself. I’ve worked with Kerri Chandler and you cannot top that. But I have recently been working, producing some tracks together with Riva Starr and that has been fun and worked out really well. 2 track release coming out on Truesoul in February.

What has been the most surreal moment for you from 2017?

Several great producers and DJ’s has reached out to me during 2017, telling me how much they like my music and asking me for original tracks or remixes for their great labels. Big heroes. It feels surreal and very very fun.

Leave us with three tracks of any genre that might ease a hangover after your Egg LDN show?
