Hello Sven, thanks for agreeing to talk to us.

Hello, thank you for the interview

When did you first realise that the relationship you had with music was more than just a hobby, but something you wanted to pursue as a career?
In the early stages of 1995 to 2000, I played more as a hobby. 2000 to 2005 is when I stepped it up a gear and started producing. When it got to 2006 I realised that I want do it as a full time job. My first releases were featured on Moon Harbours sub label ' Cargo Edition' alongside Poker Flat and Cocoon. Since 2011 after 16 years, I live from my music.

Would you consider the first meeting of Matthias Tanzmann and Daniel Stefanik, both Leipzig based producers, a pinnacle in your journey as DJ/ Producer?

Yes absolutely. From that point I went forward with my goal, to create a life from music.

What are currently your main challenges as a DJ? What is it about DJing, compared to, say, producing your own music, that makes it interesting for you?

The main challenge is always to grasp the crowd, it's never the same and is always a game. Having a lot of experience as a DJ is helpful but as a producer, I think you can only follow your own taste.

Do you believe in the possibility of "reading an audience" – and how do you put it into practice?

Yes, this is true. It's useful to read an audience however, you have to be a sensitive and experienced person as well to do this. This also depends on the time of your set, the energy and vibe of the crowd its difficult to describe. You have to look constantly on how your played music is working on the floor. You cannot be egotistical.

How would you describe the atmosphere you hope to create when playing?
Happiness;)

What was the sound you wanted to emulate from your new album?
I didn’t set out to make a specific sound, more a collection of tracks that I would play in a night club. Varying from warm up tracks at the beginning to 'peak time' tracks then after hour sounds too.

Do you have a certain criteria in which you follow when in the studio making a track?
No. Sometimes I start jamming around, other times I try to make a specific track. It depends on my mood.

If someone had never heard of you, or your music how would you describe it?
Hard to describe my own music. I would say it is something soulful, between techno and house with a Tasnadi twist ;)

What Producers do you rate at the moment?
Doorly, Hector Couto, and Sable Sheep are hot at the moment.

What would you tell anyone out there that is aspiring to be in the position you are now?
Take a long breath and keep on.
