Italian trio Agents of Time are some of house and techno's most mysterious newcomers.

Italian trio Agents of Time are some of house and techno's most mysterious newcomers.

Forming in 2013, the cloaked live act have had an incredibly ambitious debut, releasing a full length album less than a year after coming together. More recently they released the highly acclaimed "Palina" EP, which saw regular play by the likes of Anja Schneider, Tale Of Us and many more.

We caught up with the guys ahead of their live performance at Yousef's  Circus on Saturday 16th May.

"1. Hey guys, hope you're both well. So, with the success of last year’s double LP, what do Agents Of Time have in store for us in 2015?

Our 2015 started with a remix for the danish WhoMadeWho, will continue with an EP for Correspondant out in May, a remix for Guy J’s label, “Lost& Found” and much more. We certainly want to give a strong message and demonstration of what we are capable of for the coming winter and for this we are in constant preparation.

2. How would you describe your sound right now and who or what have been your key influences?

Our sound is constantly evolving. Our music is placed in the electronic sphere, but we could say that is not included in a well-defined sub-genre. Within it is easy to find elements from various musical genres, this is because each one of us has their own musical background. This gives us the chance to have a broader vision to make our music more detailed and the final product that we can pull out of our studio will be different.

3. You’ve mentioned previously that your ultimate goal is an analog live set. How far are you from making this real?

Well, if we have to be honest we are not so far from this goal. In fact we use our computers in the setup of our live simply for a matter related to the midi clock and to be able to reproduce as closely as possible our tracks. The next goal will be to use analogue machines and various hardware without any laptop plus to be able to create a live totally in jam session improvised from start to finish without guidelines.

4. Have you ever played London before and if so what do you make of the crowds here?

We have been in various London clubs but we have played here only once for a private party and it was a great experience. Actually it is a very interesting reality for the world of clubbing. London is very different from other European capitals, it is definitely one of those at the forefront. We will get to know this beautiful city better with time and maybe we will have great stories to tell.

5. Do you prefer intimate club gigs or larger festival performances?

Every gig for us is something special and we try always to give 100% of ourselves in every show, but it must be said that playing during major events or festivals gives us an incredible emotion. We love the great stages, beautiful scenography, lights and sound systems of quality, everything you can find in a festival!

6. What are your plans for this summer? Are there any gigs you are particularly looking forward to?

This summer we have quite ambitious plans on an artistic level. We certainly would like to get further on with our productions and prepare ourselves in the best way possible to face up to the different gigs we have in program. Regarding some events which we would like to approach, in particular we can think of Ibiza which can definitely provide important stages in the world of nightlife. It would be really a goal to be able to be inserted in some significant line up in order to compare our work with that of those who are present on the music scene at high levels for years.

Hi to you at Egg LDN and thank you for this interview. We will play in this amazing club on May 16th and we are sure that it will be a great night!"
