DJ Mag 25th Anniversary: The Advent

UK techno pioneer Cisco Ferreira looks forward to Saturday by taking us back over his genre defining career

DJ Mag kick off their 25th anniversary celebrations this Saturday 8th October with a storm of main room techno pressure.

Fittingly, joining them is a true UK legend The Advent, aka Cisco Ferreira. With a production career stretching back to the original acid house explosion, in his early days he worked with the likes of Derrick May, Fingers Inc, Adonis and Marshall Jefferson while at Jack Trax Records. It was as The Advent, however, originally alongside Mr G, that he went on to define the sound of techno, releasing seven albums as well as countless singles (OK, you could probably count them, be our guest). Read some of his career highlight here from last time we spoke to him Cisco.

Ahead of joining Chris Liebing, Enrico Sangiuliano and more this Saturday (info and tickets here), we looked back over the last 25 years of his peerless career...

Where were you and what were you doing in 1991?

During this time I was recording in Ghent/Belgium with CJ Bolland for 'The 4th Sign' album, which was later released in 92/93.
