Ambivalent Interview

Kevin McHugh gives DMC the lowdown on Ambivalent, Delft and La-4a before playing Sabajaq on April 23rd

Kevin McHugh is a man of multiple aliases, but you can be assured that all of them guarantee quality. As Ambivalent he's been an integral part of Richie Hawtin's M-nus crew, while also having his raw techno snapped up by Sasha's Last Night on Earth and Sven Vath's Cocoon labels. More recently he's started the Delft label and been firing forth new school acid as La-4a, with an album - 'Phonautograph' - due to drop under the moniker in mid-May. We've had a preview and it's filled with rugged analogue jams, alien electro and squelchy bass, ensuring this new identity is set to gain even further traction.

Ahead of his appearance as Ambivalent at Sabajaq this Saturday 23rd, alongside Extrawelt, Dinamo Azari, Photonz and more (full info and tickets here), he spoke to DMC in more detail about what he's been up to. Read it here.
