Boxing Day. Traditionally a custom for tradespeople to collect ‘Christmas boxes’ in the UK, dating back to the 17th Century. But these days Boxing Day is about more booze, leftover mince pies and family arguments, right before that all-important point rolls around in the evening. The time to embrace the night and taste the post-Christmas dinner festivities that London has to offer. As a club that willingly pulls out all the stops no matter what night of the year it is, Egg LDN has once again produced a quality line-up to wave off the remnants Boxing Day and make the most of the party season. Waze & Odyssey return to the Main Room for a typically colourful set, nurturing their sound of old and new productions from their W&O Street Tracks imprint, along with an extensive library of pumping house tunes. Responsible for catapulting their own careers with breakthrough track ‘Ah Baby (Here We Go Again)’ on petFood, the pair have also put some of the finest emerging talent on the map like Mella Dee, Citizenn, Ejeca, OC&Verde and Frag Maddin and more. Guiding the room with a blend of international house and techno, Nic Fanciulli joins the duo for a welcome return at the club. Working with a plethora of artists from Underworld to Josh Wink, Fanciulli’s educated ear has led him to release on labels like Toolroom, Ovum Recordings as well as his own imprint, Saved Records. London based Ellie Cocks completes the bill, a budding producer soaring high with releases on Abode and Resonance Records, in addition to her Abode residency which has earned her wide recognition on the London electronic scene. Expect bass laden, melodic grooves fused with the odd vocal thrown in. No better way to work off the Christmas calories.
